Forbidden Palace

Welcome to the homepage for the “Abroad with CFAES – The Beijing Experience” program.

This web site is intended to provide information to the 2008 student participants about the program, important dates and planned activities. A picture and brief description of each student can be found in the 2008 participant section.

In addition, the web site is intended to provide program information for the friends and family of our student participants. During our stay in Beijing, students will be responsible for posting regular journals and pictures of our activities so that family and friends can follow what we’re doing each day. These will appear in the ‘Journals’ section.

Please note the important contact information in the Contact section, The Gallery section features pictures that were taken from a past study abroad program to Beijing . Here you can see pictures of our host university, possible field trips, Beijing, and some of the food that our students will likely sample. Maps of China and Beijing are provided in the Location section so that readers will have a general idea about where we are. The Faculty and Staff sections provides pictures and names of the faculty and staff who are coordinating this program and who have taught our students in the past. Information on the program itself, our likely itinerary and our pre-departure activities are also included on this site. The itinerary from Summer 2006 has been left on this site for your reference until the Summer 2008 version is completed.

Our colleagues in China are working closely with us to plan a terrific experience for each student participant. Meanwhile, I have interviewed each participant and believe that each of them will bring their own personal enthusiasm and energy to making the Summer 2008 program a very positive and successful one.

Family members are encouraged to contact any of us who are listed under the Initial Contact listing on the Contact Information page if you have any questions.Melissa Krygier

Sincerely,
